While using the Custom Clean feature more advanced PC users can take advantage of the Wild Character. It offers greater flexiblity and power.
The Wild Character,
˙, tells Active Privacy Guardian Washer "You can replace any character and as many characters in place of the
˙ character." Please see the examples below:
Example 1:
If you wanted to wash all folders that *start* with
Adobe then you would enter
C:\My Documents\Adobe˙
Example 2
If you wanted to wash all files that started with 2000 and ended in .mp3 then you would enter
C:\My Documents\2000˙.mp3
Example 3:
Active Privacy Guardian is so powerful that you can even place the wild character anywhere within the full pathname such as
C:\My Documents˙\Adobe˙ Home ˙4˙\my files˙
Now that is flexibilty! So what would that match? A lot! This is a match:
C:\My Documents 2004\Adobe2 Home 14B\my files - back ups. Do you have a feel for it now?
So how do you enter the
˙ character within Custom Clean? It's quite simple. While in the Custom Cleaner just click the
Insert Wild Character button!
