STRONG
Active Privacy Guardian Washer is the most powerful and user-friendly washing ever created. No other washer allows you to peek inside files to verify if they contain personal information. You'll not only see a list of all files, cookies, and registries before deleting them, but you'll have the opportunity to select which ones you want to delete. Our Custom Wash is simple yet superior and flexible. You can create your own custom washes to wipe files, folders, registry values, and even registry folders. More advanced users can insert wild characters anywhere in the path or file name. Some other features include 6 Security Levels of Wiping, the Scheduler, the Wash On ... along with the largest washing list ever.
SAFER
You eliminate nearly all dangers of washing your system by seeing and knowing what you're deleting before you actually press that Wash button! Deleting files has become a dangerous act on Windows! That's why it is so vitally important for the beginner to see what's inside the files to verify that it contains information that needs deleting. After the first few washes, you'll know which files need washing. Washing programs have become so aggressive. It is easy for washers to delete files that are required by your programs to operate. Deleting such required files would destroy your program.
SIMPLER
Everything is neatly organized in a common tree format to the left. There's no need to hunt for tabs within tabs within dialogs for something you want washing. It's simple. To the left you'll see a tree list. It's all there; clearly laid out neatly organized in a professional tree format. Just click on an area, say Cookies under Internet Explorer. When you click on Cookies then Active Privacy Guardian Washer will scan your computer and show you a list of cookies. You may chose which cookies you want to keep or delete and Active Privacy Guardian Washer will never forget your selections. In the menu under View you'll see Smart Tree Viewer. This changes the way the tree list, left side of screen, is displayed. Some people prefer the Smart Tree Viewer display mode. It's simpler. It compacts everything and puts more focus on what you're currently interested in. The Smart Tree Viewer was made optional since some people may want instant access to the entire tree. If that's not enough then you'll enjoy the Favorites. It's similar to your web browsers favorites / bookmarks. Just click select an item in the Favorites menu and you'll be taken to that item instantly.
SECURE!
If you click on Wipe Algorithm in the menu you'll see we offer 6 levels of washing algorithms. The lowest security is "No Wipe." This means each item is only deleted, not wiped. The highest security is "Peter Gutmann." This is the highest security level that goes far beyond government requirements. Each algorithm consists of special wipe characters that are designed to permanently remove any faint magnetic signals that still may exist even though the file was wiped with zeros. So what is a wipe? Wiping means each item is overwritten with special codes before deleting. A simple wipe such as "Pseudo Random" only wipes the items once with random characters. Special hardware can still recover that data from your hard drive even though the item was wiped once with random data. If you need to guarantee that your data is wiped, then you might want to uses the US DoD 5220.22-M (8-306. /E) 3 pass wipe or better.
SMARTER
All other washers were designed to wash a specific version of a program. That's because it's far more difficult to design a washer that has smarts. Active Privacy Guardian Washer is the only washer to date that has a smart washer, which can wash your programs and in most cases continue washing them regardless if you update your programs to a newer version. Example, lets say you have a program called X version 2.0. You want a washer to wash a file at C:\Program Files\X 2.0\history2.txt. So one day you update to X 3.0. So now the file to be washed is at a different location-- C:\Program Files\X 3.0\history3.txt. Active Privacy Guardian Washer is smart enough to know that you updated to version 3.0 and the history file and folder has changed. No other washer to date is smart enough to adapt to those changes.
SCHEDULER
Active Privacy Guardian Washer will automatically wash you system however often as you like. You may also select the "Prompt before washing" option. Otherwise the Scheduler will automatically wash your system in the background. By default the Scheduler is turned off. To turn the Scheduler on simply click on Scheduler in the menu.
CUSTOM WASH
To see this feature click on Custom Wash in the menu above. Active Privacy Guardian Washer has the best custom washing. If we don't cover your program yet then you can use Custom Wash to wash anything; Files, Folders, Registry Folders, and Registry Values. Custom Wash makes custom washing a snap. With Custom Wash you not only can wash files, but you can also wash folders and all of its sub-folders in addition to any Registry folder, Registry sub-folders or any Registry value(s) with our 2 unique explorers. To top that off custom wash offers the power of Wild Characters for those slightly more advanced users. Our system was made flexible to accept Wild Characters not only in the file and registry names, but also anywhere within the full folder path name. WASH ON ...
To see this feature click on Options in the menu above followed by Wash On ... This allows you to automatically wash every time your Internet Explorer browser closes and/or opens. You may also automatically wash every time your computer starts and/or shuts down. Also you may select a prompt or no-prompt before each wash.
